Date: Thursday, February 27, 2020
Where: Bayside Café at 2760 Cliffe Ave, Courtenay
Time: 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
All CVWS members are invited to bring their work and read for the entertainment of the members and their guests.
Come a little early to sign up to read and purchase your beverage and treat, provided by our host, David.
This is a wonderful intimate venue in which to practice reading in front of a supportive audience. Please come and share your work with us!
The Open House will be a great opportunity to view the space. And have some fun as there will be readers, snacks…even craft-making. The board is working with Margaret to hammer out details as she has generously offered this space for the use of CVWS members for small writing groups, meetings, launches, etc. Stay tuned for more details to come…

Black Creek is north of Merville and south of Oyster River.
Take Highway 19A north from Courtenay. Shortly after entering Black Creek Unincorporated (just past Howard Rd) you will pass Topshelf Feed on right (big sign). Continue north…slight curve in highway to the right and gentle downhill slope and you will come to a large sign for Black Creek Community Hall on right. Slow down. Fairview Rd is the next street on right past the Community Hall.
If you pass the Black Creek Community Church on the right (big sign), you have missed our street. Turn into their driveway quick! Their back parking lot opens onto Fairview Rd in behind the church. We are the second house behind the church.
But if you made the turn onto Fairview, we are the second-to-last house (7896) at the end of the street…almost directly behind the church. Look for a wire fence with rugosa roses poking through along road front, green garage doors, a woodshed, a large front porch…and lots of plants.
If you are really lost, here is my phone number: 250-337-8051.
Note: There is lots of room for parking in the church parking lot, almost directly across the street from our house.
