April 11, Tuesday at 7 pm – Meet the Author Night at 40 Knots Winery, 2400 Anderton in Comox featuring CVWS member Kim Letson. Come to listen, discuss, and have a glass of wine or cup of coffee with fellow writers.
April 20, Thursday at 7 pm – General Meeting at Bayside Café, #5 – 2760 Cliffe Ave. Guest speaker is Vici Johnstone from Caitlin Press. Vici will speak about “The changing landscape in publishing. Where do we go from here?” Bring your curiosity and your questions. The evening will wrap up with an Open Mic. Bring your poetry or prose and sign up at the door to read for about five minutes.
April 27, Thursday at 7 pm – Reading Night. By Zoom. April is named after the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite. The Romans called this month Aprilis, which may derive from the verb aperire meaning “to open”, referring to flowers and fruits opening. Members are invited to share prose and/or poetry for up to 10 minutes on the April theme of Love and Renewal – with Mother Nature or yourself – or any topic related to the special days in April. (See below for the list of Special Days in April.) Other themes/topics are welcome. Members who just want to listen are also welcome!
